Loose Parts
Open ended play with a variety of interesting loose parts provides infinite opportunities and possibilities for fostering the creative mind, laying the foundation for later learning. Materials that can be combined, redesigned, taken apart and used in a multitude ways encourages creativity and imagination. Children are able to choose how they wish to arrange, store, select and assemble the loose parts. Educators promoting loose part play will be mindful of the need to provide students with a diverse and exciting range of materials. A selection of sizes, shapes, colours and textures is at the core of loose part open ended play that will spark the imagination.
